Why NovaNuke Exists

The web has gained powerful tools, but building a straightforward website can feel more complicated than it should.

NovaNuke exists to explore a simpler path: install the software on your own hosting, activate the modules your project needs, choose a theme and begin publishing.

Old-school spirit, new foundation

Classic CMS projects showed an entire generation that operating a website could be approachable. NovaNuke carries forward that independent and modular spirit without reusing legacy source code.

Its foundation was written for PHP 8.3 and newer. It uses Twig templates, PDO database access, explicit content formats and a module API with defined extension points.

Useful at different sizes

NovaNuke is not intended only for community portals. The same installation can become a small business site, a news publication, a private members area, a download catalog or a documentation website.

Features remain optional. A module that is not needed should not define the entire system.

Software you can inspect

Self-hosted software asks more of its operator: updates, backups and responsible configuration still matter. In return, the site and its information remain under the operator's control.

That tradeoff—and the freedom it provides—is the reason NovaNuke exists.
